MEET THE TEAM
Our nearest major airport is Oslo Gardermoen in Norway. Airlines such as Norwegian Air and SAS Airlines all fly direct to Oslo Gardermoden from London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Lonond Stansted, Manchester and Edinburgh.
There are also limited flights to the newly built Scandinavian Mountains Airport in Salen, Sweden.
Journey time from Oslo Gardermoen to Ice Drive Sweden HQ is 2.5 hours by car or transfer vehicle. There are many car rental companies at Oslo Gardermoen such as Europcar, AVIS and Hertz.
We do offer airport transfers so please contact us if you would like a quote.
Ice Drive Sweden HQ is located very close to the Swedish ski resort of Sälen which features many hotels we recommend to our customers.

Conor Flynn
Ice Drive Sweden was founded by Conor's father Pat who's mission was to help customers become more competent drivers in slippery conditions. Conor is a master on the lake having been the British Junior Rallycross Champion and Senior British Rallycross Champion setting fastest times on the ice roads on the RAC rally. Conor now works instructing and developing many upcoming rally and race drivers both in the UK and on the lake in Sweden.
Ella Flynn
Ella started rallying from a very young age and has won the British title twice, as well as many junior rallies. Ella and her husband Jamie are a superfast team having won the BTRDA Championship twice also! Ella is a part owner of Ice Drive Sweden and can usually be found in the office talking to customers and dealing with our bookings for each season.
Michael Flynn
Michael has been visiting the lake in Sweden since he was 13 years old. Motorsport has been in the Flynn family for generations resulting in an inevitable passion for cars and performance driving. Michael became a supercar driving instructor at the age of 16 teaching customers to drive some of the fastest supercars in the world. Michael's favourite lake car is the Porsche Cayman, and his dream car would have to be the McLaren Senna.
Ryan Hayes
Ryan has been in the motorsport industry pretty much all his life growing up in Kent watching his Dad race! He started at the age of 8 in karting, making the move to cars at 16. He competed in British Formula Ford, Champion of Brands, 750MC and others. Today Ryan is an ARDS B race instructor, supercar instructor, as well as operating a number of HGVs as my day job. Ryan's favourite lake car car is the Subaru Forester (I love a wagon!).
Liam Flynn
Liam has instructed out in Sweden for 4 seasons intermittently, whilst attending other years from a young age. He is also Conor’s Cousin. Back home in the UK he has instructed for over 10 years for various race schools/ manufacturers, and now produces and runs events for automotive manufacturers. He has raced in the UK and continues to follow racing now.
His favourite lake car is the Safety Shogun, but for pure fun you can’t beat the Old Volvo in his opinion, The Caymans are pretty good too
Mark Wright
Mark has been visiting the lake in Sweden for many years and can usually be found in the workshop ensuring all the Ice Drive Sweden cars are ready for customers to drive. Mark is an avid motorsport fan and races Jaguar E-Types regularly at UK circuits. His favourite lake car is actually the tractor that ploughs the circuits on the ice each year!
Iain Hicks
Iain's early days began on the oval circuits, progressing to 12 car and hill climb events followed up over the years to circuit racing across most of the UK tracks. Iain has an extensive mechanical background across a wide range of vehicles supported by family team including experience at Daytona with David Piper, running P1 & P2 Ferrari in the historic 24 hr.
He has over a decade of experience with Everyman racing instructing and event managing and bringing on the next generation in the industry.
Sam Hicks
Sam has been involved with Motorsport for almost a decade. He began racing at 16 in MX5’s in a small family run team and has always had a passion for cars. Sam began as a track instructor at the age of 17 and has spent the last 5 years instructing in some of the fastest supercars, as well as working for the likes of PalmerSport, BMW, Mini, and completing bespoke Supercar Tours around Europe.
Dom Bush
Dom's background in racing stems from karting when he won the Northern region championship, the London cup in 2014 and 4th in the UK championship in 2017. Dom has competed in the Fiesta championship and many one off endurance races.
Dom highly recommends the Subaru Wagon and BMW Z4 Coupé as the top lake cars.
Jack Byrne
Jack has been in the motorsport industry for many years and began racing when he was 13. He has race in rallycross and then went into Ginetta juniors, Mini Challenge and most recently Clio Cup Europe, as well as the odd rally outing.
His favourite lake car the BMW Z4 Coupé and, if money was no object, would have a Porsche GT3 RS as his daily driver.
Moh Ritson
Moh is a professional racing driver from Leeds, England. He started racing cars when he turned 15 and have since raced in McLarens, Porsches and currently BMWs in both their GT4 and GT3 race cars. He has been working with clients for private tuition on race tracks around the world since 2019. Alongside that, I am head coach at SIMTrack Driver Performance Centre and a member of the core team for Ultimate Driving Tours.
Matt Hearst
Matt has been racing karts both nationally and internationally since 2009, and has won 4 national championships. He has been a Palmersport and Everyman instructor for the last 6 years and has extensive experience with different disciplines from rally to high end supercars. Matt's favourite lake car in Sweden is the BMW Z4 Coupé.
George Hucknall
After a stint in a ‘98 Formula Renault followed by a spat of hill climbing, the past four years have been spent progressing his career in different aspects of the industry, with the likes of Palmersport, BMW and Rolls Royce. Now approaching his third season with Ice Drive Sweden, George has further developed his coaching skills, and enhance his car control technique. George's ultimate lake car is the Porsche Cayman.
James Brown
James has over a decade of experience within the motorsport industry and is now on his third year with Ice Drive Sweden. As a freelance instructor and professional driver you’ll most likely find him on a race circuit providing tuition to his clients all over the world or working alongside major brands such as BMW, Rolls-Royce and many more. James enjoys being in car with our guests pushing them out of their comfort zone and helping them develop new skills whilst driving on the lake
Ioan Lloyd
Ioan is a 21 year old Welsh junior rally driver competing in the Stellantis Peugeot cup. He has been rallying from the age of 14 on gravel and tarmac but feels driving on ice has something particularly special about it. Loan's favourite lake car has to be the Porsche Cayman S.
Matthew Ellis
Matthew has been an instructor at Ice Drive Sweden for the past 3 years and brings a wealth of coaching experience. Away from the lake, Matthew coaches drivers around the famous Nürburgring and competes in a historic racing series in the UK. He has a cool and calm approach to instruction and will have you mastering the lake circuits in no time!
Jake Hill
Jake competes in the in the British Touring Car Championship for Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport scoring his maiden victory during the 2019 season at Knockhill, and has been consistently on the podium throughout his BTCC career. Jake joins the team at Ice Drive Sweden for a short time each season and is an excellent instructor. His skills on the ice are exceptional and he thoroughly enjoys tutoring customers on the lake.
Tim Scothern
Tim heads up "Lake Patrol" in our safety truck and ensures the safety of all of our customers whilst on the lake. Tim is recognisable from the television having featured in many episodes of Police Interceptors during his time on the force in Yorkshire. Tim is also an excellent driving instructor and has years of instructing experience to assist customers whilst they are with us.
